Georgia included in the Common Transit System (NTSC) from 1 February 2025

It has been confirmed that transit operations under the CTC (Common Transit Procedure) will be possible from 1 February 2025. After Ukraine in 2024, Georgia is the 37th country to sign the ‘Convention on a Common Transit Procedure’ and the ‘Convention on the Simplification of Formalities in Trade in Goods’, which facilitate the cross-border movement of goods between the European Union and other participating countries such as Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Northern Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine and the United Kingdom.
Georgia has defined as a national priority the strengthening of its free trade relations with the European Union (EU) and is even considering eventually joining the Union. Strategically located at the eastern end of the Black Sea, Georgia has long been regarded as an excellent gateway for transport between Western Europe, the Caucasus region and Central Asia.
